October 2007 Updates

A host of small changes were rolled out to Teams@work at the beginning of October - here are the details.

Assets:

  • When viewing Asset Manager with less than 50 assets, the default view will show the next schedule date, flag any assets with issues, and highlight those with missed schedule dates.  Those with more than 50 assets will get the faster view by default and access the 'flags' view using the checkbox in the search options.
  • Asset Schedules (for calibration and maintenance) have had longer term repeat periods of 2,3,4,5 years added.
  • PDF report will now show the same data as the 'flags' view - i.e. show issue flags and the next schedule date.  Text wrapping issues here have been addressed.
  • Assets Manager has a new 'sharing' tab to give access to setting local roles.  This means you can give Owner or Manager access to content in Assets (and only in Assets) to any member.  Access to see the sharing tab is limited to the Assets Manager Owner and Managers.
  • Asset Schedules now list all the missed schedule dates between now and the last related Asset Record.
  •  A PDF tabular report for Asset Records has been added.

Documents:

  • Document Manager now shows (and reports) documents sorted by Document Number rather than date.
  • Text wrapping problems in PDF reports have been addressed.
  • When you revert a document to a previous version, a new version is now created.
  • When you link documents using the 'Related Items' field, the link will be shown from both 'ends' of the relationship.
  • Workflow state, 'draft' has now been labeled 'private draft' to clearly indicate the access status.

Events

  • Training Events are now shown in the calendar (as a search option) and in the Events portlet.
  • Events now have a "send Email Reminder" button that the owner (or a manager) can use to send a reminder to all attendees.  The email includes all event details to cater for attendees who are not members.
  • The calendar Issues search now shows 'my issues' by default with an option to show 'all issues'.
  • Calendar view options now include a 'year' tab.
  • Attendees are now shown in the pop-up event text.

Issues

  • An Issue Date has been added to record the date of the incident rather than the date the Issue was entered into the system.
  • Text wrapping problems in the Issues tabular PDF report have been addressed.

Training

  • Adding attendees to a Training Event is easier than ever now that you can add multiple employees all at once.
  • Training Records now acquire more data from the linked Training Event, saving data entry.
  • You can create a batch of Employee records from a list of Employee names - similar to Jobs, Competencies and Departments.
  • Job Descriptions now have more clearly labeled fields and better contextual help.  The Job Description view is also improved.
  • Training Manager has a new 'sharing' tab to give access to setting local roles.  This means you can give Owner or Manager access to content in Training (and only in Training ) to any member.  Access to the sharing tab is limited to the Training Manager Owner and Managers.
  • While viewing Training content, you should now see specific Training portlets - one showing only Training Events and another showing expiring Competencies.
  • From the employee record you can now view all the related content in one place - i.e, Issues for which the related member is the action officer, Documents owned, assigned Assets, Events for which employee is listed as an attendee, Tasks assigned, etc.  You can also see all content where the employee or related member is linked to via wiki-linking.
  • Manage member subscriptions from a central place.  From the employee record you can view all Issues and Documents the related member is subscribed to.  Managers and the matching authenticated member can unsubscribe from content.
  • There is now a PDF tabular report for Training Records.
