More Details ...

Document Control is a core function of Teams@work -- all of your document assets (including Work Instructions, Standard Procedures, Drawings and all other documentation ) are stored in an accessible and easy-to-use online repository. Document Control integrates tightly with our Issue Tracker to provide powerful and flexible document control.

Problems we have addressed ...

  • are your quality system documents accessible and visible (or locked in a filing cabinet, computer or server) ?
  • does your quality system "fall apart" if your quality manager is away ?
  • are your business units geographically separated but finding it difficult to share documentation ?
  • are you not being notified when important documents are updated or changed ?
  • do you have automated backups in place in case of disaster at your place of work ?

What sort of documents can be stored in the Document Manager ?

The Teams@work Document Manager can handle many types of controlled documents:
  1. Documents - you can add Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Drawings into our system. Various common file formats such as Word, PDF, Excel, Visio and AutoCAD are all supported. In some cases the contents of those files are automatically indexed so you can search for files based on their contents.
  2. Pages - i.e. web pages. As an alternative to uploaded Word and PDF files, you can choose to transfer and completely manage your documentation online using the built-in web page editor (which is convenient and cost effective if you don't have access to Microsoft Office). We've added in some extra neat features such as "auto-linking" to make linking from one document to another as easy as possible.

The Document Manager integrates tightly with these other Teams@work modules ...

  • Issue Tracker - easily view any active Document Change Requests from a document
  • Task Manager - link a task to a document in the Document Manager
